We want ceramics to become your new favorite hobby. With a patient and knowledgeable instructor by your side, these small group classes are perfect for learning and community.

From wedging and prepping balls clay, and throwing on the wheel, to trimming, handling, and of course, glazing, you will be taught the ins and outs of completing a piece of ceramics. The first two weeks are focused on refining your basic wheel throwing skills- prepping, centering, wall pulling, shaping. The third week is dedicated to consistency. You will learn not only how to create consistency within your work and finding your style. You know, in case you want to make the same cup twice or create a brand:). Week four is focused on trimming, carving, and handling techniques. You are shown how to clean up your pieces and add some ‘finishing touches’. Finally, week five is the week that we talk in detail about glazing. You then get to glaze all of the pieced you made during your course.

LEVEL 2 : The level 2 class is new to our schedule and is brought to you by POPULAR demand. This course is intended for those who have a moderate to intermediate handle skill level on the pottery wheel who are looking to continue to stack their skills and broaden their creativity. We will work on creating consistency within your work and deeper explore any techniques that you, as the growing artist, are wanting to learn about. With the basics out of the way, this series is a guided studio session that is tailored to each individual student’s learning goals.

  • Feeling inspired? Needing some independent making time? Just want to practice in peace? We’ve got you. Open studio is geared toward folks who already have a little or a lot of experience with the pottery wheel. Open studio is independent, instructor-less work time meant for you to hone your centering/skills, make a set of cups, or just come and relax with some clay. Pop in your ear buds while you work or chat quietly with a friend, it doesn’t matter; this 120 minutes is yours. If you have in progress work from previous open studio sessions, this is also time to finish your work up (trim, handle, glaze).

If you are heading down to book an open studio, you likely have already had, at the very least, a lesson or two and know at least the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. Open studio time is UNINSTRUCTED/UNASSISTED. This means that you are flying solo from the time you pick the clay up all of the way through to clean up. If you have never used the pottery wheel before we respectfully ask that you please take at least one instructed wheel class prior to your open studio reservation.

If you plan to trim/glaze your own work, we recommend booking both your initial session and follow up sessions at the same time. Wheel time spaces fill quickly and due to space, we cannot have in-progress work on the shelves for more than a week or two.

Clay, tools, and glazes are provided by the studio. Complete cleanup of your space/wheel is required within the 120 minute session.

    $50 per person | 120mins | 4 person limit | AGES 16+

*Session price includes anything and everything made during your session- you will not be charged more for making a lot.
